Global Excellence Centers are the new Talent Centers of the World

The world is flattened to the point where costs of operations are spoken of in terms of travel between parent locations and global centers, cost of operations, and cost of real estate in the context of running the excellence center operations. It’s seldom the wages cost that is discussed in the board rooms when it comes to hiring the right talent for high performance that creates well-engineered products for the new age markets driven by the fast pace in technology adoption and innovation.

GECs today are driven by accountability, ownership and results. There’s an increase in the leadership roles from GECs based out of India compared to a decade ago when leadership, guidance and direction were predominantly headquarters-driven.

India attracts most Global Excellence centers being established for global corporations that want to realize their globalization objectives. Over 45% of the world’s Global Excellence Centers are based in India. There are good reasons for this trend and a good portion of the reasons for this is ‘Talent’. The talent pool available in India in almost every possible sphere of skillsets makes it evident that India is the go-to place for establishing an excellence center for an enterprise operating in almost any industry or sector.

The talent pool that is available in India has evolved into an ecosystem for quality talent where not only the GECs stand to gain but also the start-ups which thrive in these favourable conditions.

There couldn’t be a better time for enterprises to embark on their globalization journey. There’s probably no better place to find high-quality talent and scale to run global operations than in India.
